Eighteen hardy souls met on 27th December and were rewarded with mulled wine and mince pies after shooting two rounds of 14 3ds. A big thank you to Brian, John and Alex for spending most of a very frosty day before setting up the shoot. 2010 Club Trophy Shoot Thirteen club members turned out on a gloriously sunny November morning for the Wight Company Trophy shoot on 6th November. The simple but effective course made the most of the natural water and long grass on the site with 15 3d targets, including our new walking bear.
After a bite to eat and a brief Annual General Meeting, two more members joined the group for another round in the afternoon.Scores are listed below and a number of photographs can be found in the picture gallery.Trophies were awarded to best male, Phil Rackett and best female, Hanna Pitkeathly.A smaller group stayed to enjoy a bbq, bonfire and fireworks.
Brian gave a short report of the Company’s activities over the past year and thanked all those that have been involved with the club’s activities and events, particularly Kieran Bull and James Westlothorn who have now stepped down from their committee posts.
Brian was re-elected as chairman.Cathy and John Kerr were elected as Treasurer and Membership Secretary respectively. Mike Blandford offered his services as assistant Chair.
Members are reminded that club membership is due on 1st January. It was agreed to raise the cost of membership for 2011 to £15 for seniors, £7.50 for anyone under the age of 16 and £40 for family membership (maximum of three adults or two adults and two children). Please click 2011 application form to download a renewal form and send with the appropriate payment to Cathy Kerr.
The club intends to support Chris Sweeney in training to be a coach in the New Year, after which we will be able to run courses to introduce people to the wonderful world of field archery. All members are encouraged to become actively involved in planning and setting future shoots.
