Bow Hunting Themed Shoot on Sat 4th and Sun 5thSeptember, 2010
After a successful 2009 event the Wight Company of Field Archers invite NFAS members to another two days of Friendly Field Shooting on the Isle of Wight.
This event is only for traditional (LB, AFB, HT, P and BB) bows and wooden arrows. We are unable to cater for compounds, any aluminium or carbon arrows, or bows with sights.
Saturday’s shoot will consist of 2 rounds of 20 2d and 3d targets (40 shots) in a beautiful well contoured woodland location near Ancient Brading with views of the Downs and the English Channel.
NB: the ground in the woodland is uneven in places with hilly sections, loose leaf litter and animal sets over some fairly rugged terrain.If you have any concerns about your mobility/capacity to negotiate the terrain please contact us for further guidance before booking a place.
Saturday’s evening events will continue at the nearby Roebeck Campsite and Sioux Tipi Village where archers will have the opportunity to try Alternative yet Traditional archery practices under the aegis of the SPTA www.sptradarch.org.Please bring any blunts you may have.You will also be able to have a go at knife and axe throwing.
Evening entertainments will conclude with a fire based show to celebrate the passion we all have for archery.
Sunday’s Shoot is on site at Roebeck and will be technical and challenging with the added difficulty of a Bow Hunting Theme – one arrow, one Shot, one peg!!!
Plus a chance to participate in further SPTA archery activities during the day
The weekend will be comprised of the following:
2 days of shooting with free transport between sites
Our own reasonably priced refreshments at each shoot and a Venison spit Roast on Sunday
Archery Related Entertainments & Campfire Saturday Evening
The opportunity to stay in a Tipi
An excuse to come to the beautiful Isle of Wight and try out ‘alternative’ Traditional shooting skills

Roebeck Camping & Caravan Park will be available exclusively for our use for the weekend and as well as the Tipi experience offers a variety of pitches for your own camping equipment and spaces for small motor homes and caravans, come earlier if you want and make a week of it, Roebeck offers combined packages with discount with both IOW ferry companies,
